Welcome!
No matter how you stumbled across my corner of the internet, I’m glad you’re here.
Oftentimes, what we share online is curated perfection, highlighting only the best of ourselves. I have a different approach.
As much as we want life to make sense, the truth is there’s a lot that can feel unclear, or gray. Even messy.
And as it turns out, these messier moments, for me, have also been the defining ones – the ones I feel God has used to take me places I never even would have thought to go.
My childhood, while heavily sprinkled with lots of moves that repeatedly required breaking down all the “new kid barriers,” was also fully supported and encouraged at home by parents who always seemed to make stepping outside of comfort something to be celebrated. Suddenly, even being the “new kid” taught me to value who I really was rather than how people saw me.
Throughout my life, baseball has been the source of many important lessons for my family and me. With my husband Kevin being an MLB pitcher (and my son now following that path as well), where we lived and how we spent our time was often out of our control. Early on, I learned to value and maximize the small moments our family got to spend together.
Even if there was uncertainty in the big picture, these small moments provided us the opportunity to grow.
In my late 30s, my faith really came alive. In light of what I had learned about who God is, everything began to make more sense for the first time– an absolute delight for this logic-leaning, intellectual introvert. At the same time, my boundaries were being stretched by a new career in sales, which opened up a whole new world for me. While it was overwhelming at times trying to start a business and embrace my faith in a new way, God used these experiences to guide my way forward.
From all this, I learned that you can spend your whole life trying to create absolutes – as many people do; but if you’re looking for MORE, I invite you to dive into the beauty of the unfamiliar. Until I did that, I was living moment to moment, trying to keep up.
Today, I don’t live for any one moment. I am living for eternity, and identifying that shift was a life-changing experience.
Which brings me to you, and why I created this quiet little corner of the internet for us. Here’s what I believe: The life I’ve lived, the experiences I’ve had, the lessons I’ve learned – they’re all gifts from God. Yours are too. You may just not acknowledge them as such, and that is O-KAY! I’ve learned that EVERYTHING makes so much more sense when viewed from an eternal perspective.
Starting today, I pray you’ll know you’re always invited, and I hope you’ll stick around to explore or even send me a note to connect further.
With much love,
Opportunity
